Preguntas frecuentes sobre productos reconsiderados

Reconsidered Goods recibe más de 12 toneladas de materiales donados mensualmente, desviando efectivamente grandes cantidades de nuestro flujo de desechos local.

  • What is Reconsidered Goods?
Reconsidered Goods is a Creative Reuse Center with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, and our mission is to promote environmental awareness, community engagement, and creative expression through reuse, education, and the arts. We collect materials from hundreds of individuals, businesses, industries, and municipal sources and distribute those materials for purchase in our retail store as well as through workshops, events, and parties. Reconsidered Goods is a benefit for all that are involved — because of our nonprofit status, our donors are eligible for a tax deduction for the value of the items they donate. Community members have access to hard-to-find, affordable materials. Usable materials are kept from entering the waste stream.
  • Where do you get your materials?
We collect materials from Greensboro and the surrounding areas. Materials include foam, paper, fabric, zippers, buttons, test tubes, and much more. We take contributions from individuals and businesses. We welcome craft materials, art supplies, vintage goodies, and other unique items.
  • What materials do you accept?
Please visit our what materials do we accept page for information about donating materials, and what we are able to accept.
  • What do you do with the materials you collect?
Our materials are sorted and evaluated for sale. Materials are sold in our retail store and featured in a variety of creative arts programs and workshops.
  • What are your store hours?
We are closed on Mondays. Store hours are Tues - Sat 10AM-6PM and Sun 12PM-6PM. Learn more about donation hours and holiday closings here.
  • Where are you located?
We are located at 4118 Spring Garden St., Greensboro, NC 27407. In the West Market Shopping Center directly behind the Food Lion.
  • What do you do with the money you make selling materials?
Store sales and income generated by fee-for-service programming supports our mission, allowing us to collect materials from businesses and individuals in our area, and to process those materials and make them available to the public. Support to Reconsidered Goods provides opportunities to expand our education and outreach programs that teach the benefits of reuse through creative expression.
  • Are you hiring?
Any available positions to join the RG Team are posted on Job Opportunities. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible environment for all. Different makes us better.
  • Can I volunteer with you?
Our volunteer program welcomes the community to support our efforts in a variety of ways. Volunteer duties may include sorting, bagging, testing donated items, and assisting with prep work for our education programs. We also need help working outreach events and festivals throughout our community. We can help with community service and service learning hours. To apply as a volunteer fill out the interest form and our Volunteer Coordinator will contact you. Our volunteers are a vital part of our success!
  • Interested in being considered for the Reconsidered Goods Board of Directors?
Board members join us in their passion for creative reuse and have the time, expertise, and dedication needed to serve. Board applications for board recruitment are open at certain times of the year and require a three-year commitment. Reconsidered Goods is dedicated to and celebrates a board that reflects the diversity of our community. Board members provide guidance and oversight and support the forward momentum of our organization. We are not currently accepting board applications at this time; check back with us.
  • What are other ways I can help with waste reduction?
So glad you asked that question! Reconsidered Goods is also a hub for glass and styrofoam collection. Recycling bins are located outside as you drive towards the back of our store near our donation deck, and can be accessed 24/7. When donating your unwanted materials to RG, remember to drop off your glass and styrofoam as well!
