Reconsidered Goods FAQs
Reconsidered Goods receives over 12 tons of donated materials monthly, effectively diverting large quantities from our local waste stream.
-
What is Reconsidered Goods?Reconsidered Goods is a Creative Reuse Center with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, and our mission is to promote environmental awareness, community engagement, and creative expression through reuse, education, and the arts. We collect materials from hundreds of individuals, businesses, industries, and municipal sources and distribute those materials for purchase in our retail store as well as through workshops, events, and parties. Reconsidered Goods is a benefit for all that are involved — because of our nonprofit status, our donors are eligible for a tax deduction for the value of the items they donate. Community members have access to hard-to-find, affordable materials. Usable materials are kept from entering the waste stream.
